About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Production Manager to oversee and optimize our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards. This position requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
The Production Manager will work closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Warehouse, and R&D teams to ensure smooth production flow, cost control, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and safely.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines while optimizing resource utilization.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the manufacturing team to achieve operational excellence, safety, and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain best practices in manufacturing processes, including lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe and incident-free work environment.
- Monitor and control production costs, budgets, and wastage to maximize profitability.
- Ensure accuracy and control of Bill of Materials (BOM) in collaboration with R&D and Supply Chain, monitoring material consumption against standards and reporting variances.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and end-to-end production processes, ensuring they are maintained in optimal condition.
- Drive quality assurance procedures to ensure products meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Manage material arrangement through the production ERP system and ensure material consumption is in line with approved BOMs.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain accurate production records in the ERP system and prepare reports for management review and compliance audits.
- Lead capacity planning, process improvement, and automation initiatives to increase productivity.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and implement safety policies and training programs to foster a safety-first culture within the factory.
- Ensure adherence to environmental standards, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Responsible for maintaining food regulatory compliance, including PSQCA and other organizational requirements, to ensure food safety and continuous quality improvement.
- Coordinate and take responsibility for all collaborative work with the R&D department, including New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD).
- Ensure production data accuracy in ERP and management systems for traceability and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with the production schedule (CTS), including daily tracking of schedule adherence and reporting to management.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management in support of business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, including at least 3 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role within the Food & Beverage Manufacturing Industry.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory management, BOM control, ERP systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Sound understanding of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, PSQCA requirements, and food safety regulations.
- Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, waste reduction, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, team management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP-based manufacturing systems.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in food processing, FMCG, bakery, confectionery, snacks, beverages, or related food manufacturing sectors.
- Hands-on experience working with R&D teams on New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD).
- Strong focus on operational excellence, quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.
Pay: Rs250,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month
