What is Manager SME and Housing - MMBL?
The position is responsible for managing & coordinating the activities of subject matter expert (EME & Housing Finance) within the bank. Support the strategic goals by ensuring the technical knowledge, expertise & best practices are applied across various business areas such as credit, operations, risk management, compliance & product development.
What Manager SME and Housing Does?
Business Planning & Growth:
-
Assist Head SME & Housing in establishment of SME & Housing channel in a cost-effective manner within the allocated budget.

Assist Head SME & Housing in business planning, execution & implementation.
-
Plan & Monitor business growth targets, volume, revenue & net profitability of the SME stream.
-
Ensure sales staff deployment in all branches as per approved HC.
-
Conduct periodic field visits to get customer feedback regarding performance of SME & Housing products and give recommendations to management for necessary changes.

Introduction & execution of SME & Housing lending procedures in branch network.
-
Assist branches in setting branch and individual benchmarks & targets for SME channel outreach, profitability portfolio quality & client servicing.

Ensure individual, branch & regional targets are met in SME & Housing segment.

Reporting underperformance to the line manager with proper reasoning.

Identify new business opportunities in SME & Housing segment.
Portfolio Quality Management & Compliance:
-
Portfolio Performance Reviews on regular basis & proactive collection perusal through regular field follow ups.

Ensure key portfolio & collection indicators are within the assigned benchmarks.

Ensure portfolio quality in line with risk threshold & timely corrections where required.

Ensure quality portfolio generation as per bank & SBP guidelines.

Ensure policy compliance in product & services sales & portfolio management.
-
Inculcate credit compliance culture & fraud prevention to achieve low risk rating in SME credit portfolio.

Ensure effective & standard internal controls & report any non-compliances or fraud as per bank polices and SBP guidelines.
Performance Monitoring:
-
Ensure smooth business activities within the branch through regular checks.

Ensure all branches comply with required standards of business management excellence, best practices & operating effectives & efficiency.

Monitor, identify and evaluate sales & collection performance against benchmarks.
-
Monitor productivity & efficiency of sales teams & update line manager for corrective actions.

Regular field visits & SME customers to ensure portfolio & sales staff field performance, ensure quality standards in SME & Housing portfolio.

Regular sales & collection performance reviews of sales staff & guidance to achieve the targets as per assigned benchmarks.
Training & Development:
-
Coaching & Mentoring of sales team on credit appraisals, policies, regulatory compliance, bank credit and collection policies.

Ensure capacity building of sales staff in accordance with product features, sales calls, product & market segmentations, customer handling & collection ethics.

Staff mentorship during field visits and credit committees.

Liaison with HR & Training & Development unit in staff trainings and capacity building measures.

Identify TNA’s of sales staff and ensure internal/external training arrangements as per requirements.
Service Quality:
-
Insight on competitor’s product offering & provide feedback to the line manager.

Meet internal service standards & ensure no service related complaints are received from customers.
-
Address service related complaints in line with bank internal policies & FTC guidelines.
SBP Reporting:
-
Coordinate with regions/branches in submission of all reports as per define time-lines.

Generate all reports related to SME & Housing segment & ensure timely corrective measures.
-
Coordinate with branch and sales staff on working schedules and planners.
-
Any other task Bank may assign from time to time.
What are we looking for and what does it take to be Assistant Manager Products?
-
Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable Institution, however Master OR Bachelor degree in Management Sciences, Commerce, Accounting & Finance, Economics, Agriculture will be preferable.

Minimum 10-year experience in the Microfinance/SME sector with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

In-depth knowledge of microfinance products, risk management & financial regulations.

Strong understanding of Housing Finance, mortgage lending & Real Estate market & related regulations.
-
Strong leadership skills & the ability to manage & motivate diverse teams.
-
Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work under pressure
