Manager Utilities & Maintenance

To ensure uninterrupted availability of utilities and optimum performance of machinery, including hydraulics, rollers, conveyors, and other plant equipment, through effective preventive and corrective maintenance. To lead utilities, mechanical, and electrical maintenance teams for smooth and safe manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Utilities Management

• Oversee operation & maintenance of boilers, compressors, chillers, generators, HVAC, and water systems.
• Ensure continuous and reliable supply of electricity, water, gas, and compressed air for production.
• Monitor and optimize energy usage, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and certifications for boilers, generators, and other regulated equipment.

2. Mechanical, Electrical & Hydraulic Maintenance

• Develop preventive & predictive maintenance schedules for hydraulic presses, rollers, conveyors, and automated machinery.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns related to hydraulics, motors, gear systems, conveyors, and drive mechanisms.
• Supervise overhauling and servicing of rollers, hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and conveyor belts.
• Ensure minimum downtime of production through quick response and root cause analysis.
• Maintain sufficient stock of spare parts (hydraulic seals, roller bearings, conveyor belts, etc.).

3. Compliance & Safety

• Implement HSE standards in utility and maintenance operations.
• Conduct risk assessments for hydraulic systems, conveyors, and high-voltage electrical systems.
• Ensure safe operating procedures for hydraulic presses, rotating rollers, and moving conveyors.
• Train staff in lockout/tagout (LOTO), fire safety, and emergency response.

4. Planning & Reporting

• Prepare and control maintenance and utility budgets.
• Monitor KPIs: machine uptime, breakdown frequency, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).
• Analyze recurring faults in hydraulic and conveyor systems, proposing improvement plans.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on utility consumption, downtime, and maintenance activities.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, rollers, conveyors, gear systems, and rotating machinery.
• Strong background in mechanical & electrical maintenance, including motors, drives, pumps, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Familiarity with automation, sensors, and material-handling equipment.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and planning skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Sc. in Mechanical.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in manufacturing industries (synthetic, footwear, textile, or related).
• Hands-on expertise in hydraulics, conveyors, and industrial rollers.
