Mechanical Supervisor- Ship Repair/Shipbuilding Inds.

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Supervisor with proven expertise in ship repair and maintenance. The ideal candidate will oversee mechanical works onboard vessels, manage repair teams, and ensure timely execution of dry-docking and afloat repair projects. This role demands strong technical acumen, leadership, and a deep understanding of marine systems and dockyard operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical repair and maintenance of shipboard systems: engines, pumps, valves, piping, and HVAC
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and classification societies during inspections and repair cycles
• Allocate tasks to technicians and monitor progress, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
• Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications for repair planning
• Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, material usage, and manpower deployment
• Ensure compliance with dockyard safety protocols and environmental regulations
• Liaise with vendors and contractors for outsourced mechanical jobs

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering
• 5–8 years of experience in ship repair, dry-docking, or marine maintenance
• Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and hydraulic systems
• Familiarity with classification standards (ABS, DNV, IRS, etc.)
• Experience in managing repair teams in dockyard or offshore environments
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic ERP tools

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
