Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist healthcare providers across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. Duties

  • Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and verifying insurance information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
  • Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray preparation, and basic life support (BLS) as needed
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions, ICD coding for diagnoses, and relevant clinical notes in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Assist with specimen collection, lab sample handling, and coordination of diagnostic tests across outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, scheduling follow-ups, and ensuring a welcoming environment in clinics specializing in geriatrics, internal medicine, or emergency medicine

Experience

  • Prior experience working in dermatology clinics or hospital medicine environments is highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions is essential
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration enhances your effectiveness in this role
  • Experience working in hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) is preferred
  • Familiarity with outpatient clinics across specialties like geriatrics or medical-surgical units will set you apart
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or OR experience are a plus
  • Previous roles involving intake procedures, vital signs collection, X-ray assistance or hospital experience will strengthen your application
