Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations by preparing treatment rooms, gathering supplies, and ensuring a comfortable environment.
- Accurately document patient encounters in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in real-time, including history, physical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation to support clinical assessments.
- Conduct patient intake procedures by collecting medical histories and updating demographic information efficiently and compassionately.
- Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray coordination, and basic life support when needed.
- Manage medical administrative tasks such as ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), insurance documentation, and appointment scheduling to ensure seamless clinic operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in diverse settings such as dermatology clinics, emergency departments (Level I & II trauma centers), hospital medicine units (including PICU and Geriatrics), and outpatient clinics to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in clinical environments such as hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics or specialty practices like dermatology or internal medicine.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and basic pharmacology to support accurate documentation and patient interactions.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like X-ray operation or medication administration are a plus.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient charting and documentation; experience with ICD coding is highly desirable.
- Prior hospital experience including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is preferred; experience in emergency medicine or surgical settings such as OR or medical-surgical units is advantageous.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU).
- Ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Pay: $17.12 - $18.00 per hour
