Medical Assistant/Scribe

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Assist healthcare providers in documenting patient medical records in real-time
  • Accurately and efficiently enter patient information, medical history, and examination findings into electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and complete documentation
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for appointments and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Review and verify medical records for completeness and accuracy
  • Obtain the patient's medical and medication history and document in EMR.
  • Obtain and record a patient's vital signs
  • Prepare patient for examination or treatment
  • Assist the physician/physician assistant in performing the examination or treatment
  • Ability to administer injections
  • Ability to accurately withdraw medication to be administered
  • Demonstrate the ability to use medical equipment for spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pump programmers. (where applicable)
  • Participate in a comprehensive plan of care to meet the ongoing needs of the patient
  • Basic knowledge of human anatomy & physiology and it's relation to the practice of pain management
  • Perform administrative tasks such as typing, scheduling of appointments, and maintaining medical records, check in front desk duties, authorizations et al.
  • Maintain professionalism and respect to patient privacy at all times
  • Punctual and consistent attendance
  • Possess excellent time management skills
  • Ability to critically think and make appropriate decisions
  • Maintain and clean rooms and equipment
  • Restock supplies and take inventory of supplies needed
  • Assist in other areas of the office (front/back) as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with hospital procedures and protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately transcribe medical information
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers, patients, and other staff members
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Experience with taking vital signs, or administering medications is a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $23.50 per hour
