Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests including hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, serology, and hormonal assays relevant to Obs & Gynea patients.
- Collect, process, and analyze patient samples (blood, urine, swabs, etc.) with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of specimens.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers.
- Follow quality control procedures and participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
- Assist in specialized testing related to maternal health, antenatal care, infertility investigations, and newborn screening.
- Maintain laboratory records, reports, and documentation in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Ensure infection control, biosafety, and waste disposal procedures are strictly followed.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Participate in on-call duties, if required, for urgent cases (e.g., emergency C-sections, miscarriages, or neonatal care).
- Keep updated with new laboratory techniques and emerging trends in Obs & Gynea diagnostics.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent.
- Certification/License from a recognized regulatory body (where applicable).
- 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Experience in women’s health diagnostics and Obs & Gynea-related testing will be an advantage.
