About the Role

Nauru Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Medical Tourism Coordinator to manage and support medical referral patients from Nauru. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring close coordination with hospitals, specialists, and partner agencies to ensure seamless medical care, travel logistics, and patient welfare throughout the referral process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Nauru medical referral patients, escort teams, and partner agencies
  • Coordinate medical consultations, investigations, surgical procedures, and specialist appointments
  • Liaise closely with surgeons, physicians, nursing teams, and hospital departments to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Manage operating room (OR) scheduling, pre-operative requirements, and post-operative follow-ups
  • Handle travel logistics including visas, airport transfers, accommodation, and patient welfare needs
  • Prepare treatment cost estimates, medical packages, and financial documentation
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential patient files and referral documentation
  • Support patients during arrival, admission, discharge, and throughout their stay in Australia
  • Prepare daily and weekly referral reports and assist in monitoring KPIs for the Nauru Referral Program
  • Ensure high standards of patient care, cultural sensitivity, and excellent customer service

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience in medical tourism, hospital coordination, or surgical coordination (highly preferred)
  • Experience with international patient services and government referral programs is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong cultural sensitivity
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and multitasking abilities
  • Fluency in English; additional Pacific languages are an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office and hospital information systems
