Position Overview:

The Junior Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing assigned Modern Trade accounts, ensuring delivery of sales, revenue, and profitability targets. This role involves developing and executing tailored business plans, leading joint business planning with retailers, and driving flawless in-store execution to maximise share of shelf and category leadership. The Junior KAM will manage budgets, trade agreements, and promotional calendars while monitoring competitor activity and market trends to maintain a competitive advantage. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the role requires strong commercial acumen, analytical ability, and relationship-building skills to achieve sustainable growth within the UAE FMCG market..


Responsibilities:

Account Management & Growth

  • Develop and implement tailored business plans for assigned Modern Trade accounts to achieve sales, margin, and share-of-shelf targets.
  • Build strong relationships with key retailers, acting as the main contact for commercial discussions and execution.
  • Identify and drive new growth opportunities within existing accounts and expand brand footprint across categories.

Trade Agreements & Promotions

  • Support the annual trade agreement process, including negotiations on pricing, rebates, and trading terms.
  • Design and execute promotional calendars based on sales potential and profitability analysis.
  • Manage trade and promotional budgets effectively, ensuring maximum ROI.

Sales Performance & In-Store Execution

  • Monitor account performance against agreed KPIs, providing regular business reviews and action plans.
  • Ensure perfect store execution including planogram compliance, on-shelf availability, POSM placement, and promotional visibility.
  • Guide and align sales executives to deliver consistent outlet-level execution.

Market Insights & Data Analysis

  • Track competitor activity, consumer trends, and market dynamics to refine strategies and maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Leverage retailer portals and internal data to generate actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Provide regular reporting and recommendations to management on account performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & New Launches

  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and trade marketing to deliver seamless execution of account plans.
  • Support new product launches with in-store visibility, promotional activities, and strategic placement.
  • Align internal stakeholders to ensure joint business planning (JBP) is executed effectively with major retailers..


Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of FMCG Key Account Management or sales experience in the UAE market.
  • Proven track record managing Modern Trade accounts such as Carrefour, Lulu, Spinneys, Coops, and Petrol Stations
  • Experience in developing and executing joint business plans (JBP), trade agreements, and promotional calendars.
  • Hands-on exposure to category management, planogram execution, and trade marketing initiatives.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP/sales reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge of retailer portals and other trade data analytics platforms.
  • Solid understanding of promotional planning, assortment management, and shelf-space optimisation.
  • Ability to translate market insights and competitor analysis into actionable strategies..

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with retailers and stakeholders.
  • Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to interpret sales reports and market trends.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to guide sales executives and align cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with a results-driven and growth-oriented mindset.
