Officer Airside Operations - Delma Airport

The Airside Operations Officer (AOO) is responsible for providing excellent customer service to Airlines and other key stakeholders while ensuring the airside environment is safe and serviceable. The AOO operates as part of the 24-hour Airside Operations Team and supports the Deputy Manager Airside (DMA) in maintaining aerodrome safety and compliance with the Aerodrome Certificate issued by the GCAA and other relevant legislation.

The role also involves responding to emergencies as per the Airport Emergency Plan. The AOO must have exceptional communication skills to coordinate effectively with customers, stakeholders, senior management, government agencies, and emergency services, ensuring operational plans and activities are executed efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company management systems, policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements, including Abu Dhabi Environment Health and Safety standards.
• Assist senior officers to ensure safe and efficient aerodrome operations.
• Conduct movement area inspections and record events as required.
• Conduct wildlife inspections per the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan.
• Enforce airside safety rules and ensure compliance by all airside users.
• Deliver daily operational activities and log events at the end of each shift.
• Maintain excellent communication with customers and stakeholders in normal, emergency, and contingency situations.
• Achieve team objectives and individual performance targets.
• Oversee contractors’ work on the airfield, ensuring compliance with work permits and regulations.
• Integrate key elements of the Safety Management System into daily activities.
• Conduct shift briefings and incorporate learnings into operational processes.
• Respond to and report all incidents and accidents on the aerodrome per standard procedures.
• Provide escort services for police, VIPs, ambulances, and contractors.
• Provide “follow-me” services for aircraft when needed.
• Participate in all airport emergencies in line with ADIA emergency plan.
• Obtain required training to maintain operational competency and validity of the aerodrome certificate.
• Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Perform other assignments as directed by Airside Operations management.

• Safeguarding obstacle-free zones and habitat management up to 13km from the airport
• Day-to-day airside safety and 24-hour aerodrome licensing coverage
• Maintaining accurate records and producing reports
• Consulting and advising across organizational levels; conflict resolution and trust-building
• Problem analysis and solution identification
• Adapting behavior and methods in response to new information or unexpected obstacles
Safety enforcement and disabled aircraft recovery operations

Requirements & Skills

Qualifications / Education:

• Secondary school or equivalent aviation diploma
• Valid UAE Driving License

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years in airport operations
• Experience conducting aerodrome inspections
• Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience operating under GCAA and statutory legal requirements
• Knowledge and experience within airside environments, with required technical competencies
