Job Summary
As an Officer in Cash Management Operations at Standard Chartered in New Cairo, you will play a key role in developing and managing payment service products while positioning the processing centre as a significant revenue generator. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the departmental operational budget is met by diligently tracking service costs and seeking opportunities to control transaction expenses, including courier, communication, and miscellaneous charges.
You will be entrusted with safeguarding business integrity by preventing revenue leakage and ensuring that no debits to profit & loss accounts occur without proper authorization. Delivering high-quality service to stakeholders and customers is fundamental, along with cultivating strong working relationships with internal teams and support units.
You will be working closely with large corporate customers, particularly in Egypt, advising them on efficient and compliant money transfer options to exchange-controlled countries. Adhering to and living Standard Chartered’s values consistently is essential. Moreover, you will contribute to projects with ownership of deliverables and support colleagues in collaborative initiatives.
Your role demands a proactive approach to cost management, operational excellence, and relationship building, aligning with the bank’s strategic objectives and commitment to outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for processing various financial transactions including cash, cheques, drafts, and transfers over the counter while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. Responding to general enquiries and investigating service issues to ensure customer satisfaction will be part of your day-to-day duties. You will also guide customers towards appropriate self-service and automated banking channels to enhance their experience.
In addition, you will support branch administrative functions and ensure strict adherence to teller procedures and Financial Crime Compliance standards. Maintenance and custodianship of designated bank assets such as teller registers, secured stationery, keys, and bulk stock will be entrusted to you based on operational requirements.
You will participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and User Validation Testing (UVT) processes relating to cash area systems to ensure transactional integrity and system effectiveness. Ensuring mechanisms are in place to detect transaction authenticity and that remittance instructions are followed meticulously will be critical.
A vital aspect of your role is ensuring internal reconciliations and escalations are managed promptly to maintain accuracy in financial records, including the resolution of Nostro unreconciled entries. You are expected to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) relating to transaction processing times and complaints handling, contributing to continuous process improvement and compliance with Global Process Standards.
As a versatile team member, you will provide backup support to other supervisory desks as required, ensuring seamless operations within the cash management function.

Skills And Experience
Candidates should have comprehensive experience managing conduct and operational risk within cash management operations. Strong knowledge of payments processes, including SWIFT messaging, is essential to ensure accurate and secure transaction handling. A proven ability to lead and manage people, balancing operational demands with team development, is required. Deep understanding of operational risk controls to prevent errors and fraud, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills, will enable effective management of complex payment processes.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess experience in cash management operations, including payment processing, collections, and systems such as RTGS and ACH. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and a detailed understanding of cash management operational workflows. Formal qualifications in finance, banking, or related fields are advantageous, along with proven exposure to compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
