Position Title: OPD Executive
Department: Outpatient Services
Reporting To: Manager – OPD
Location: Chennai

Job Summary:

The OPD Executive will be responsible for managing smooth functioning of the Outpatient Department, ensuring an efficient, patient-friendly experience from registration to consultation, diagnostics, and billing. She will coordinate between doctors, nurses, diagnostics, and billing teams to ensure timely and accurate patient flow management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient registration, appointment scheduling, and consultation flow for all OPD consultants.
  • Coordinate with front office and nursing staff to maintain appointment time discipline and avoid delays.
  • Assist patients in completing consultation-related formalities and guide them to diagnostics or pharmacy as required.
  • Maintain daily OPD statistics (consultation numbers, cancellations, delays) and report to the Operations Manager.
  • Handle patient feedback, grievances, and escalate issues promptly for redressal.
  • Coordinate with marketing and corporate desks for corporate, insurance, and package patients.
  • Ensure availability of consultation rooms, required stationery, and equipment readiness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and professional ambience within OPD waiting and consultation areas.
  • Support NABH documentation and audit requirements related to patient handling, registration, and consent forms.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Tamil.
  • Good understanding of hospital workflows and OPD coordination.
  • Basic computer knowledge (HIS / MS Office).
  • Courteous, empathetic, and patient-centric approach.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate in any discipline (preferably Life Sciences / Hospital Administration).
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in OPD or Front Office operations in a multi-specialty or super-specialty hospital.
  • candidates with hospital experience would be given a higher start

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
