Operations Executive

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Operations Executive based in Dubai to support and coordinate bulk and containerized cargo operations across West and East Africa. The role involves assisting in vessel discharging, warehouse operations, and logistics coordination, while liaising with stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Support:

• Assist in overseeing discharging operations of bulk vessels using bagging plants, ensuring proper stacking, segregation, and accurate warehouse documentation.
• Handle bulk vessels of wheat and other dry commodities, and containerized sugar shipments in transit to Ethiopia.
• Support on-site operations to prevent delays and minimize vessel turnaround time.
• Coordinate logistics with stevedores and third-party service providers, ensuring optimal manpower and equipment use.

Stakeholder Coordination:

• Liaise with vessel owners, charterers, port agents, surveyors, clearing agents, and local teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Support coordination with banks and the Dubai team for documentation and smooth cargo clearance.
• Prepare and submit daily discharge updates and final reports to stakeholders and vessel owners.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure adherence to port regulations, safety standards, and international maritime practices.
• Assist in damage inspections, claim reporting, and other compliance-related tasks.

Business Development Support:

• Participate in market visits and support business development activities to expand operations in target regions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime, or related field.
• Experience in bulk and containerized cargo operations, preferably in Africa or Middle East.
• Knowledge of port operations, customs clearance, and maritime regulations.
• Good coordination, communication, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational documentation.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to operational sites in Africa.
