Role Overview
The Operations Head will lead and optimise end-to-end operations for The Betel Leaf Co. across 60+ kitchens, supply chain, inventory, production, hygiene, fulfilment, and automation projects. This role requires a performance-driven leader who can manage scale, ensure operational excellence, maintain hygiene standards, and support rapid national expansion.
Key Responsibilities1. Operations Management & Scalability
- Oversee daily operations across all cloud kitchens, pick-up points, and retail supply channels.
- Drive operational efficiency, SOP adherence, and cost optimisation.
- Lead expansion operations for new cities, new kitchens, and project roll-outs.
- Implement automation and streamline workflows to support scale.
2. Supply Chain & Logistics
- Manage end-to-end procurement, vendor performance, and cost negotiation.
- Ensure strong inbound & outbound logistics across 22+ cities.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels, demand forecasting, and minimal wastage.
- Ensure timely sourcing for exports, GT, and quick commerce.
3. Production & Quality Control
- Oversee production teams ensuring consistent quality, accuracy, and timely output.
- Lead central kitchen automation setup and daily production health checks.
- Monitor process deviations and ensure corrective actions.
4. Hygiene, Food Safety & Compliance
- Implement and audit hygiene standards across all kitchens.
- Drive compliance with FSSAI norms, food handling protocols, and statutory requirements.
- Run periodic training on hygiene & safety for all kitchen and operations staff.
5. Fulfilment & Customer Experience
- Improve delivery TAT, order accuracy, packaging quality, and operational SLAs.
- Coordinate with customer service teams for issue resolution and process improvement.
- Reduce operational complaints through strong root-cause analysis.
6. Data, Reporting & Performance Management
- Own operational KPIs: productivity, wastage, fulfilment rate, cost per order, hygiene scores.
- Build dashboards and reports for management reviews.
- Track weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics.
7. Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead regional managers, kitchen managers, logistics teams, and production supervisors.
- Drive hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation for operations staff.
- Build a culture of discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Finance, HR, R&D, and Marketing for seamless operations.
- Support new product launches, export operations, and vending machine deployment.
Key Skills & Requirements
- 8–15 years of operations leadership experience in FMCG/QSR/Manufacturing/Cold Chain.
- Strong understanding of multi-city operations, supply chain, and production.
- Experience with automation, process optimisation, and SOP building.
- Excellent problem solving, prioritisation, and crisis management skills.
- Data-driven mindset with strong reporting and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage large teams with discipline and performance-focus.
- Strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial approach.
