We are currently hiring for a Full-Time Back Office Ophthalmic Technician in our fast-paced, patient-focused practice.

Position Overview

As a Back Office Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our physicians. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Obtain patient medical histories
  • Measure visual acuity
  • Perform lensometry, IOP testing, corneal topography, OCT, A-scan, and visual field testing
  • Accurately document exam findings while assisting physicians (scribing)
  • Assist patients with contact lens training
  • Administer ophthalmic drops as directed
  • Assist physicians with minor in-office procedures
  • Submit and document prescriptions
  • Maintain, clean, and stock exam rooms and instruments
  • Return and respond to patient phone calls
  • Provide front desk support as needed, including answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Highly organized and dependable
  • Quick learner with strong attention to detail
  • Professional, positive demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • EMR or similar computer system experience
  • Compassionate, personable, and empathetic toward patients
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to exceptional customer service

Preferred:

  • One (1) year of Ophthalmic Technician experience
  • COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) certification
  • Experience with NextGen EMR
