We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage all payroll-related functions for multiple skilled nursing facilities operating under various FEINs. In this role, your responsibilities will include collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, taxes and deductions, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records. This position is also expected to lead remote HR/payroll processors to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, and to provide guidance as needed to ensure processes are within established guidelines.
To be successful as a payroll specialist, you should be able to investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards. An outstanding payroll specialist should also have excellent people skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Processes payroll and related activities and reviews the payroll statements and reports
Solves problems concerning payroll, answers inquiries, and enforces payroll policies within established pay practices, company policy and federal/state guidelines
Supervises data entry into HRIS/Payroll Systems
Assists in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency
Trains HR/payroll employees and audits work of same on an ongoing basis
Other related tasks as may be assigned
Required Qualifications:
Must be familiar with payroll processes including requirements and federal/state labor and tax laws
Experience managing payroll for multiple skilled nursing facilities under various FEINs highly preferred
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and have strong typing/data entry skills
Strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
Attention to detail, accuracy with numbers and efficiency in completing multiple-tasks
Develop creative solutions and make accurate and quick decisions
Proven record of working to tight deadlines while maintaining high level of accuracy in a high-volume processing and fast paced environment
High School diploma required
Bachelor degree preferred
Must have four (4) years recent experience in payroll, including managing automated time and attendance systems
Experience in position of supervisory responsibilities is preferred
Salary commensurate with experience.
