Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist Full Time, Springfield, MA
Pay Range - $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Peter Pan Bus Lines is searching for a motivated individual for our Payroll/Benefits Team.

Major responsibilities include:

• Review and audit timesheets, enter into system for payment, balance and process
• Review and process employment and payroll changes
• Provide support to employees and managers for payroll and benefits as needed
• Ensure activities are in compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement and State and Federal laws
• Accurate filing of all payroll/benefits information

Associate’s Degree or training in Business or Human Resources, 2- 3 years’ experience in payroll and benefits processing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in logistics or in transportation industry is helpful
• Excellent Computer Skills including working with Databases, Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications
• Experience working with payroll systems and HRIS applications
• Strong mathematical and reasoning skills required
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to handle confidential information with discretion
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills
• Knowledge of wage and hour laws and working with collective bargaining units preferred
