Personal Assistant Caregiver

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe their overall health status regularly
  • Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
  • Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, or other assistive devices safely
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and incident reports
  • Support clients with memory care needs related to Alzheimer’s disease or dementia through engaging activities and supervision
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans and ensure quality patient care
  • Provide emotional support, companionship, and social interaction to promote mental well-being

Skills

  • Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on senior or disability care
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as hospice or dementia care are a plus
  • Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Familiarity with medication administration procedures and care plan adherence
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
