Responsibilities:
- Create technical drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, piping and equipment layouts for water treatment plants and systems using measurements, specifications, and additional data from the application team.
- Collect initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers, and combine all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification
- Coordinate directly with Sr. Piping Designer and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices
- Familiarize themselves with the latest safety, design, maintenance, and operational standards and codes and utilize them in the designing process.
- Annotate and verify all numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings and schematics, using both CAD programs and manual calculations when necessary
- Communicate with the execution team to create detailed layouts before production, and assist in designing, creating, and testing production molds.
- Layout, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems
- Support the engineering team as needed by creating technical drawings and digital models within deadlines and utilizing multiple methods to ensure deliverables include all relevant design details.
- Preparing BOQs according to project needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline.
(Diploma in Mechanical Drafting or equivalent technical qualification acceptable for junior roles.)
Experience:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical and piping design within industrial systems.
- Proven experience in preparing P&ID, PFD, piping layouts, and mechanical design drawings.
- Exposure to fabrication drawing preparation and coordination with production teams.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or equivalent CAD software.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Revit, or other 3D modeling tools (preferred).
- Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO piping/mechanical design standards.
- Strong understanding of piping systems, valves, pumps, pressure vessels, and instrumentation layouts.
- Competence in BOQ preparation, material take-offs, and technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering data sheets, process flow diagrams, and project specifications.
