Job Overview:
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and
coordinating with various teams to ensure timely completion of high-end luxury real estate projects. The role
requires expertise in project planning tools, delay analysis, and coordination to support successful project
execution while adhering to standards and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Scheduling and Planning
Develop a detailed and comprehensive Master Project Baseline Program using Primavera software,
covering the entire scope of engineering, procurement, construction, and project handover based
on contract requirements, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and drawings.
Perform resource loading of the schedule with cost and manpower to generate Progress S-curves for
cash flow analysis and progress planned percentages.
- Progress Monitoring and Updates
Update and evaluate the baseline program monthly to compare planned and actual progress.
Analyze and inform the project management team of any delays, assessing their impact on the
project completion timeline to mitigate potential risks.
- Coordination and Issue Resolution
Collaborate with the site management, procurement, design, and commercial teams to address and
resolve issues related to engineering, procurement, and construction activities, ensuring project
timelines are met.
- Claims and Delay Analysis
Prepare detailed claims for Extension of Time (EOT) and prolongation costs using methods such as
Time Impact Analysis, and As Built vs. As Planned in the event of delays beyond Palace Group’s
control.
Prepare and assist in the submission of delay notices and related correspondences.
- Reporting and Forecasting
Assist in preparing and reviewing Monthly Reports, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules to provide
clear updates on project progress.
Generate accurate and timely reports to support management decision-making.
- Tender and Subcontractors’ Schedule Preparation
Assist the Commercial and Procurement teams in the preparation of tender schedules and
subcontractors’ schedules.
Requirements:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
o A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Planning Engineer, preferably in luxury real estate or
high-end construction projects.
o Proficiency in Primavera software is mandatory.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office is mandatory.
o Advanced knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and delay analysis methodologies.
o Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes.
o Effective communication and coordination abilities to liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
o Proficiency in preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
