Planning Engineer

To monitor medium term aircraft maintenance planning activities for AFAD fleet with consideration of fleet commitment, production capability and qualifications and ensure timely accomplishment of schedule maintenance checks and fulfil the requirements of the official ground schedule and aircraft availability and to cooperate with all GAL departments to maximize fleet availability and fleet utilization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelor degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering
• Master degree in Aeronautics / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering is a plus.
• English language skills.
• Arabic is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years’ experience in the Engineering function of a major aircraft MRO player
• Experience on military aircraft is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Fluency in English Language
• Arabic Preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for ensuring efficient and effective maintenance planning, maximum aircraft availability, maintenance cost optimization in support of the safe and compliant deployment of the fleet
2. Establish, maintain and control safety and airworthiness standards for the Company fleet to best practice standards and in conformance with Military Airworthiness Authority (MAR) requirements
3. Responsible for effective and compliant monitoring of the active flying fleet to ensure only airworthy aircraft are scheduled for operations
4. Implement best in class planning philosophy to ensure aircraft ground times are minimized and able to be efficiently completed with minimal overrun risk
5. Develop, implement and maintain a robust short term planning process with effective communication between relevant stakeholder groups including Maintenance Operations and Program Management Office.
6. Work closely with various planning groups at different stations to ensure correct job reporting into the system
7. Develop, implement and maintain a robust long term planning and heavy maintenance process with effective communication between relevant stakeholder groups including external Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) support functions.
8. Develop, implement and maintain a digital and paperless production planning environment with optimized staff allocation, spares, tools and task utilization
9. Establish goals and objectives for the Planning team that aim to exceed GAL business plan and KPI requirements
10. Responsible to ensure adequate department staffing is in place and in line with the business plan to meet the operational needs of the department
