Pre-Sales Engineer ( Radios - Telecommunicaitons )

This role requires strong technical expertise in TETRA, DMR, UHF/VHF, and associated telecom systems, including radio dispatching, coverage planning, RF propagation, PAGA integration, and security solutions.

You will work directly with customers (ADNOC Onshore/Offshore, Police, Civil Defense, Airports, O&G EPCs, TSIs and other contractors and consultants ) to understand requirements, prepare technical proposals, conduct site surveys, and support tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Pre-Sales

• Understand customer RF communication requirements and design solutions using TETRA, DMR, VHF/UHF radio systems, radio paging, trunking systems, and RF transmission.
• Prepare technical proposals, BOQs, system architecture diagrams, and solution descriptions for tenders and RFPs.
• Conduct coverage studies, link budget calculations, and frequency planning.
• Design end-to-end solutions including:
• TETRA and DMR base stations
• Radio dispatchers
• POC / hybrid solutions
• GPS/Tracking
• Repeater systems
• Antenna systems & combiners
• RF distribution
• Advise clients on migration, upgrades, and expansion of existing radio systems.

Client Engagement

• Attend client technical meetings, clarifications, and walk-throughs (especially ADNOC, EPC consultants, system integrators).
• Present WAFA’s radio solutions, conduct demonstrations, and provide technical clarification.
• Support sales in identifying opportunities and driving solution positioning.

2. Engineering & Design

• Develop detailed engineering including block diagrams, system architecture, and rack layouts.
• Coordinate with OEMs for system design and optimization.
• Support FAT, IFAT preparation, and system integration planning.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure proper handover after award.

3. Documentation

• Prepare technical method statements, compliance matrices, and project submittals.
• Review tender documents and ensure full technical compliance.
• Benchmark WAFA solutions against competitors to create strong differentiators.

4. Required Skills & Technical Competencies

Core Radio Expertise

• Strong hands-on knowledge of TETRA radio systems (base stations, terminals, gateways).
• Experience with DMR, VHF/UHF analogue and digital radios.
• Understanding of RF fundamentals, propagation, power levels, antenna selection, repeaters.
• Familiarity with radio Coverage software tools.

Additional Knowledge (Preferred)

• IP networking basics (routers, switches, VLANs).
• Radio dispatching platforms.
• CCTV, Access Control, and Security Systems (added advantage).
• Telecom systems: WIMAX, Microwave, IP Telephony, Fiber.

5. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in Radio Communications or Pre-Sales Engineering.
• Experience working in similar roles as sales/presales in radio systems (DMR/TETRA)
• Experience in handling government ,semi government, oil and gas , defence related projects tenders.
• Valid UAE driving license (preferred).

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month
