Position Overview:
The Process & Control Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, testing, and maintaining industrial process and control automation systems for diverse engineering projects. The role requires hands-on expertise in Schneider PLCs, SCADA, Power Automation, Power Quality Systems, Harmonic Mitigation Systems, Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Siemens Simatic solutions, with a strong focus on delivering efficient, reliable, and optimized industrial automation solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities:1. System Design & Engineering
- Design and develop process automation architectures using Schneider PLCs, SCADA, and Siemens Simatic systems.
- Configure and integrate Power Automation & Power Quality Monitoring systems.
- Perform harmonic analysis and mitigation design for industrial applications.
- Develop and deploy Energy Management Systems (EMS) for process efficiency and cost optimization.
- Prepare functional design specifications (FDS), control philosophy documents, and I/O lists.
2. Implementation & Commissioning
- Lead installation, configuration, programming, and testing of PLC/SCADA systems (Schneider & Siemens).
- Carry out site commissioning, loop checks, FAT, SAT, and system validation.
- Integrate automation systems with electrical switchgear, power monitoring devices, busbar systems, and industrial machinery.
- Conduct Power Quality analysis and implement corrective measures in coordination with electrical engineering teams.
3. Project Execution & Coordination
- Work closely with Project Managers, Design Engineers, and Clients to ensure automation deliverables meet project requirements.
- Support the Supply Chain team in evaluating and selecting appropriate automation hardware/software.
- Ensure compliance with project budget, timeline, and quality standards.
- Provide technical support during project execution and resolve automation/control-related challenges.
4. Maintenance & Support
- Conduct troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance of automation and EMS systems.
- Develop user manuals, SOPs, and training sessions for client operators/maintenance teams.
- Ensure cybersecurity measures are in place for automation and SCADA networks.
5. Research & Development
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation, digitalization, and Industry 4.0 solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and solutions for process improvements.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and team-building activities to develop junior engineers.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Control Systems Engineering from a recognized institution. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 1–10 years (minimum) of hands-on experience in Process & Control Industrial Automation.
- Technical Expertise Must-Have:
- Schneider PLCs & SCADA programming and configuration.
- Siemens Simatic control systems.
- Power Automation & Power Quality Analysis.
- Harmonic Systems & Mitigation techniques.
- Energy Management Systems (EMS) design and deployment.
- Hands-on with communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, IEC 61850).
- Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of industrial switchgear automation and protection relays.
- Experience in industrial electrical safety, HMI design, and historian systems.
- Familiarity with smart grid technologies, IoT, and digital twins.
