Procurement Engineer (MEP ARABIC)

JOB OVERVIEW:

Managing the procurement processes for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within construction projects. Your role ensures that all MEP materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with project specifications and timelines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procurement Strategy & Planning

· Develop and implement procurement strategies for MEP materials and services that align with project requirements.

· Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) for MEP materials, equipment, and subcontract services.

· Review technical submittals, supplier quotations, and compliance with MEP specifications and authority regulations.

Supplier Management & Negotiation

· Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality procurement.

· Establish and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.

· Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and warranties to optimize costs and maintain quality standards.

Project Coordination & Documentation

· Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to understand project specifications and timelines, ensuring alignment in procurement activities.

· Maintain accurate procurement records, tracking order status and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.

· Coordinate with MEP, technical, and planning teams to align procurement with construction schedules.

Market Research & Compliance

· Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new products that can benefit the projects.

· Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.

· Manage vendor relationships and resolve issues regarding delivery, quality, or service performance as needed

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

• 8 years proven experience as a Procurement Engineer, preferably within the MEP sector of the construction industry.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of procurement processes and market dynamics related to MEP materials and services.

Soft Skills:

• Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build fruitful relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Language:

• English and Arabic Required
