We are looking for an MEP Procurement Officer who is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services for contracting projects, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery within budget and specifications. Key duties include developing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, preparing purchase orders, and collaborating with project and technical teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supplier management:

Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers; build and maintain long-term relationships.

  • Negotiation and contracts:

Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, review existing contracts, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Strategic sourcing:

Develop cost-effective procurement strategies and conduct market research to identify savings opportunities.

  • Procurement process:

Manage the end-to-end process, from issuing RFQs (Request for Quotations) and purchase orders to approving them and confirming delivery.

  • Coordination and communication:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other teams to understand material needs and resolve issues.

  • Logistics and delivery:

Monitor delivery schedules, track orders, and coordinate with logistics and warehouse staff to ensure materials arrive at the site on time.

  • Budget and cost control:

Control the procurement budget, monitor spending against budgets, and prepare reports on procurement activities and cost savings.

  • Documentation:

Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase logs and vendor databases.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in MEP procurement, often within the contracting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP materials, technical specifications, and the local supplier market.
  • Proficiency in procurement or ERP software and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documents and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • At least minimum of 2 years of experience in UAE.
