Production Head Fashion Brand

The Fashion Production Head will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end garment production operations, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, quality control, and smooth coordination between design, sourcing, and manufacturing teams. This role requires strong leadership, technical garment knowledge, and hands-on production management experience.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

Develop and manage production plans based on design briefs and sales forecasts

Ensure on-time and cost-effective production of garments across all categories

Monitor daily production targets and resolve workflow bottlenecks

Coordinate with design, merchandising, and sourcing teams for smooth production flow

Factory & Vendor Management

Manage in-house production units and external vendors/factories

Negotiate production timelines, costs, and capacity planning with vendors

Ensure vendors comply with quality, ethical, and safety standards

Quality Control & Compliance

Implement quality control standards at all stages of production

Conduct regular inspections to ensure garments meet brand specifications

Handle production issues related to fit, fabric, stitching, and finishing

Ensure compliance with industry standards and company SOPs

Costing & Inventory Control

Oversee garment costing, consumption calculations, and wastage control

Optimize fabric usage and minimize production losses

Monitor raw material inventory and ensure timely procurement

Team Leadership & Reporting

Lead and manage production teams, supervisors, and technicians

Train staff on production processes, quality benchmarks, and efficiency

Prepare production reports, timelines, and performance analysis for management

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce costs

Implement best practices in garment manufacturing and workflow management

Support scaling of production as per brand growth requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Apparel Management, or a related field

2–4+ years of experience in garment or fashion production

Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, patterns, stitching techniques, and garment construction

Hands-on experience with production planning, quality control, and vendor management

Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced fashion environment

Proficiency in MS Excel and production management tools
