Production In-Charge – Joinery Division
Job Summary
The Production In-Charge – Joinery Division is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all joinery production activities to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost control. The role involves managing workshop operations, manpower, materials, machinery, and coordination with design, estimation, and site teams for turnkey interior fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities Production & Operations
- Plan and supervise daily joinery production activities (woodwork, cabinetry, furniture, wall panels, doors, counters, etc.).
- Ensure production schedules are aligned with project timelines and site requirements.
- Monitor workflow to maximize productivity and minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with project managers and site engineers for priorities and deliveries.
Quality Control
- Ensure all joinery works are executed as per approved shop drawings, samples, and specifications.
- Maintain high quality standards and ensure finishing meets company and client expectations.
- Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions when required.
Manpower Management
- Supervise carpenters, machine operators, polishers, and helpers.
- Allocate tasks based on skill level and project urgency.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline of workshop staff.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to improve workmanship.
Materials & Inventory
- Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of timber, boards, hardware, veneers, laminates, and accessories.
- Control material usage and reduce wastage.
- Maintain proper stock records and material reconciliation.
Machinery & Safety
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of joinery machines and tools.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and report breakdowns immediately.
- Enforce workshop safety rules and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with design, estimation, and procurement teams.
- Provide daily/weekly production reports to management.
- Highlight production risks, delays, and resource requirements in advance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Qualification in Carpentry, Wood Technology, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in joinery production within the UAE interior fit-out industry.
- Strong knowledge of joinery materials, finishes, hardware, and machinery.
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings and BOQs.
- Experience in high-end residential, retail, hospitality, or commercial joinery works.
- Good leadership, planning, and communication skills.
