Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on and organized Production Supervisor to oversee fabrication, assembly, and installation activities for water and wastewater treatment projects. The role involves supervising shop and site work related to structural fabrication, piping, equipment installation, and quality control, while ensuring adherence to project timelines and standards.

The ideal candidate will coordinate between the production team, stores, and project engineers to ensure smooth workflow — from material planning and takeover to installation and return — maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Fabrication Supervision:

  • Supervise daily fabrication, welding, and assembly activities for structural, piping, and skid-mounted systems.
  • Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Allocate work to technicians and fabricators based on daily production schedules.
  • Review fabrication drawings and support nesting and cutting plans for efficient material use.

Material Management:

  • Coordinate with the stores department for material issuance (takeover) and return of unused items.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used and returned, ensuring accountability.
  • Plan material requirements in advance based on fabrication and installation schedules.

Equipment Installation:

  • Oversee installation and alignment of pumps, tanks, valves, and other mechanical equipment at shop or site.
  • Ensure piping fit-ups, supports, and welding works are completed per standards and drawings.
  • Conduct pre-installation and post-installation inspections to verify compliance.

Quality Control & Safety:

  • Conduct in-process and final quality checks for fabrication, welding, and assembly works.
  • Ensure that all inspections and tests (dimensional checks, hydro tests, etc.) are documented properly.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in the production area.
  • Ensure all personnel comply with HSE guidelines.

Planning & Coordination:

  • Work closely with project engineers and planners to meet project deadlines.
  • Track daily progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare daily and weekly production reports.
  • Support in manpower planning and assist with vendor/subcontractor coordination when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in production, fabrication, or mechanical installation within water/wastewater treatment, EPC, or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, piping layouts, and mechanical installation drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding standards, material handling, and quality inspection procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD is an advantage.
  • Good leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Hands-on approach with strong focus on quality and safety.
