Purchase Assistant – Apparel

Job Summary:
The Purchase Assistant – Apparel will support the procurement team in sourcing fabrics, trims, accessories, and finished garments. The role requires coordination with suppliers, monitoring inventory, tracking orders, and ensuring timely availability of materials to meet production and sales requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Purchase Manager in sourcing fabrics, trims, and apparel-related materials from approved vendors.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, track deliveries, and follow up with suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier records, contracts, and pricing agreements.
  • Coordinate with design, merchandising, and production teams to understand material requirements.
  • Conduct market research on suppliers, pricing trends, and product quality.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist in maintaining optimal inventory.
  • Ensure all purchased materials meet the company’s quality and compliance standards.
  • Resolve delivery issues, shortages, or quality discrepancies with vendors.
  • Assist in preparing procurement reports and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Textile Management, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the apparel/garment industry.
  • Knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment production processes.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
