Responsible for managing and enforcing Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements on behalf of the Client to ensure full compliance with project standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage QA/QC activities on behalf of the Client/Developer across all phases of the project.
- Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
- Review, assess, and approve contractor submissions including Quality Management Plans, ITPs, Method Statements, and Material Submittals.
- Conduct routine site inspections, quality surveillance, and internal audits to verify workmanship standards.
- Ensure consistent implementation of approved QA/QC procedures by main contractors and subcontractors across all work areas.
- Identify quality non-conformances, issue NCRs, and monitor corrective and preventive actions to timely closure.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and client representatives to resolve quality-related issues and observations.
- Witness inspections, testing activities, mock-ups, and trial installations in line with approved ITPs and specifications.
- Review laboratory test results, material certificates, and compliance documents to confirm conformity with project requirements.
- Monitor material control processes including delivery inspections, storage conditions, approvals, and traceability.
- Maintain accurate and complete quality records such as inspection reports, test results, NCR registers, and handover documentation.
- Monitor workmanship quality across civil, architectural, finishing, and MEP interface works, where applicable.
- Support the preparation, review, and verification of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and final handover documentation.
- Conduct quality awareness sessions and toolbox talks focused on workmanship standards and project quality objectives.
- Ensure proper site housekeeping and verify readiness of completed works prior to inspections by clients, consultants, or authorities.
- Coordinate with site teams to monitor, rectify, and close snags and punch list items within agreed timelines.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, consultants, and third-party testing laboratories as required.
- Monitor subcontractor quality performance and submit regular quality reports to the Client and Project Management team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience in construction QA/QC, preferably in a client-side, consultancy, or PMC role.
- Strong understanding of construction specifications, quality management systems, inspection procedures, and document control.
- Familiarity with local authority requirements and international standards such as BS, ASTM, and ISO.
- Excellent reporting, coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.
