Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost breakdowns, and tender documentation for all MEP disciplines.
- Analyze and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure scope alignment, technical compliance, and competitive pricing.
- Implement robust cost control mechanisms to monitor actual expenditures against approved budgets.
- Identify and document variations and change orders, ensuring timely submission and contractual alignment.
- Review MEP subcontractor invoices, validate quantities, negotiate discrepancies, and support final account closure.
- Coordinate with project managers, design teams, and procurement departments to ensure cost strategies align with execution plans.
- Participate in value engineering exercises, proposing cost-efficient alternatives that meet design intent and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all MEP works comply with technical specifications, contract terms, and local authority requirements.
- Prepare interim payment applications, monitor cash flow, and assist in budget forecasting and reconciliation.
- Support pre-contract activities including tender analysis, bid evaluations, and commercial risk assessments.
- Provide periodic cost reports, budget updates, and commercial insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain organized records of all commercial transactions to support audits, claims, and project closeout procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional accreditation (MRICS, RICS, AIQS, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- 6–8 years of proven experience in MEP quantity surveying, preferably on high-rise or mixed-use developments.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction practices, and cost management methodologies.
- Skilled in Candy, CostX, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel for measurement and analysis.
- Familiarity with FIDIC and other international contract frameworks.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
