Quantity Surveyor / Senior

Overview

Parsons is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Senior (Roads and Infrastructure) to estimate costs and manage budgets for Roads, infrastructure and landscaping projects.

What You'll Be Doing

• Estimating costs and managing the projects' budgets.
• Determining initial project costs and monitoring progress to ensure work is completed to a high standard and within budget.
• Reviewing claims and preparing the proper submittals.
• Reviewing monthly invoices of the contractor's KPI and preparing the proper submittals.
• Keeping up-to-date assets control records.
• Handling related Variation Orders activities.
• Managing post-contract QS functions, including interim and final payments, variations, commercial and contractual correspondence, cash flows, and claims.
• Advising on contractual matters and ensuring completeness and validity of contractual requirements.
• Advising on Contractor's resource allocation and carrying/verifying remeasurement works.
• Auditing payments to Contractors and ensuring prompt submittal and completeness of valuations.
• Checking and recording measures of work done; preparing variations and day-works; reviewing, negotiating and preparing claim settlements.
• Coordinating and monitoring activities of the QS team; preparing financial statements for monthly reports.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying and contract administration of roads and maintenance works.
• Proficiency in CESMME and FIDIC.
• Ability to perform standard estimating activities typical to the engineering and construction industry.
• Clear understanding of construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with typical project controls software and DMCS (Document and Materials Control System).
