Remote HR Specialist for DSO

The Role:
The People Operations & Culture Specialist is responsible for executing core human resources functions and processes that support the organization's people operations across a multi-state footprint. This role manages day-to-day HR activities including employee relations, performance management, leave administration, HRIS oversight, compliance, and manager training. The Partner will serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and ensure consistent, compliant, and effective HR practices in alignment with organizational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & Performance Management:

· Respond to and manage employee relations matters; conduct investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions

· Draft and administer corrective action plans, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and separation documentation

· Provide coaching and support to managers regarding employee performance, conduct, and development

HRIS & Records Administration:

· Maintain and oversee employee data in iSolved, ensuring accuracy and timely updates to records (new hires, terminations, changes, payroll, benefits etc.)

· Ensure proper documentation, digital file management, and HR compliance standards are met

Recruitment & Compensation Support:

· Manage full-cycle recruitment for a handful of requisitions at any given time, including posting, screening, and coordinating interviews

· Support compensation benchmarking and salary range development for new roles and internal equity reviews

· Partner with hiring managers to ensure job descriptions and offers align with compensation strategy and market trends

Leave Administration:

· Manage employee leaves of absence including FMLA, ADA, personal, and workers’ compensation leaves

· Maintain appropriate documentation and communication with employees and management throughout the leave process

· Coordinate with benefits, legal, and payroll as needed

Compliance & Policy Execution:

· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across multiple states

· Assist in maintaining and updating HR policies, employee handbook, and procedures

· Conduct internal audits and maintain compliance trackers and logs

Manager Training & Support:

· Provide training and guidance to managers on HR policies, performance management, documentation standards, and employee engagement

· Serve as a resource for interpreting HR policies and procedures

Projects & Continuous Improvement:

· Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve operational efficiency

· Support initiatives related to onboarding, DEI, employee engagement, performance management, and HR system enhancements

· Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programs and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

· Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a generalist or HR manager capacity

· Experience managing HR functions in a multi-state environment; healthcare or dental industry experience preferred

· Proficiency in HRIS platforms, with preference for iSolved experience

· Strong understanding of employment law, compliance, and leave administration (FMLA, ADA, etc.)

· SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

· This is a remote position; must be based in the United States in one of the following states: CA, FL, GA, HI, IL, MN, MO, NJ, NY, WA

· Must be able to work in a home office environment with reliable internet access and minimal disruptions

· Must be available during standard U.S. business hours

· Occasional travel (2–4 times per year) for leadership meetings, audits, or team gatherings

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
