<div><div><p>The NYCHA Law Department&rsquo;s Legal Counsel Division provides legal advice to the agency in legislative, regulatory, and compliance matters and other initiatives. The unit assists the agency in formulating and implementing policies and procedures and provides support to internal business partners by researching a host of legal issues affecting their operations.<br>

Responsibilities of the Agency Attorney III include, but are not limited to, the following:<br>

1. Analyze proposed and existing federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and rules to determine their effects on NYCHA and to assist in implementation.<br>

<div><div><div>The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the agency responsible for regulating New York City's taxicab and for-hire vehicle industry. TLC licenses and regulates over 130,000 vehicles and more than 175,000 drivers, making it the most active taxi and limousine regulatory agency in the United States. Aside from vehicles and drivers, TLC also regulates taxicab agents and for-hire vehicle bases, including popular app-based transportation services. The TLC plays a pivotal role in furthering public safety within New York City and is a lead agency in a citywide effort to reduce traffic-related injuries. One of the largest components of TLC&rsquo;s operations is the enforcement of agency and administrative code regulations.<br>

The Prosecution Division investigates and prosecutes all summonses issued by TLC which consist of administrative, field and consumer-initiated complaints. Our division prosecutes a wide range of violations including reckless driving, unlicensed operation, illegal street pickups, harassment and leaving the scene of an accident. Prosecuting Attorneys represent TLC on cases heard before the Hearings Division of the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings and will gain robust hands-on litigation experience as they rotate through various prosecutorial assignments, including Consumer Intake, Settlements, Hearings and Appeals.<br>

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:<br>

 Your role will be to assist the division in ensuring compliance of buildings with valuable benefits, under the direction of the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Compliance &amp; Enforcement. You serve as the agency&rsquo;s subject matter expert on compliance and enforcement of tax incentives and will investigate and take enforcement action against non-compliant building owners. Cases focus on violations of statutory requirements, including, but not limited to, rent registration and affordability requirements, as well as violations of Regulatory Agreements. These investigations regularly involve coordination with other city and state agencies; you may assist the AC in liaising with these agencies. Additionally, the attorney will investigate allegations that are referred from both internal and external sources. The attorney will also participate in drafting and reviewing legislation that affects the division&rsquo;s compliance and enforcement efforts. Additionally, you will assist the Assistant Commissioner and other senior staff with agency reporting requirements on compliance cases handled by the division.

We provide a range of wrap-around services to help survivors rebuild their lives in the aftermath of abuse, and work to end gender violence through three key strategies: direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy. POSITION OVERVIEW</b></p><p>
Sanctuary for Families Community Law Project (CLP) seeks an attorney with domestic violence and/or family law experience to provide comprehensive, culturally competent legal services to survivors of domestic and gender based violence who seek assistance with family offense, custody/visitation, and child/spousal support proceedings, as well as matrimonial matters. The attorney will also conduct community legal clinics, outreach and training and will collaborate with other agencies to advocate for systemic change. RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li>
Provides direct representation and advocacy to clients in family law litigation, including family offense, custody and visitation, child and spousal support and divorces in all five boroughs of NYC. Summary</b></div><p>
MTA Construction and Development Company (MTA C&amp;D) is the construction arm of the MTA and is responsible for all capital projects for the MTA operating agencies. We seek a practicing attorney who will report to the Deputy General Counsel and be accountable for providing legal counsel, contract management, procurement, risk management, and policy advice to MTA C&amp;D executives and management on a broad range of issues to protect and preserve the agency's legal interests. This position will handle a wide range of topics touching every department within the agency, including construction, real estate, procurement, human resources, program controls, intellectual property, media, and environmental issues. The position will also assist the Deputy General Counsel in addressing complex matters for the General Counsel and agency executives.</p><p>
The Contracts Department provides legal advice on all construction contracts, litigation and claims, and change orders, as well as third-party real estate agreements and condemnation proceedings. In addition, the department provides legal advice on human resources, environmental, personal injury, intellectual property, Freedom of Information Law, public relations and legislative matters, and other issues relating to MTA C&amp;D.</p><p>
The Contracts Department is a service provider to clients within MTA C&amp;D and is responsible for all procurement activities within the agency.</p><div></div><div><b><br>
Responsibilities</b></div><p>
Provide in-house legal counsel and business strategies for all activities affecting the agency to help agency executives make business decisions that will protect the agency's legal rights and minimize risk. Must be accountable for a broad range of practice areas, including real estate acquisitions, construction, contract drafting, federal and state compliance obligations, environmental issues, and human resources matters.</p><p>
Draft and review multi-million construction contracts and multi-million design and professional services contracts to ensure compliance with MTA policy and state and federal regulations. Interpret and analyze complex technical engineering plans, designs, and specifications to ensure that contract requirements are written to minimize legal risk and contractor claims.</p><p>
Analyze construction design plans, specifications, schedules, and estimates to determine the merit of contractor claims. Make recommendations on legal strategies for handling claims.</p><p>
Represent MTA C&amp;D in dispute resolution proceedings concerning complex construction claims with high values.</p><p>
Negotiate multi-million dollar construction contract changes to preserve the agency's legal rights, minimize delays, and protect the project's budget and schedule.</p><p>
Develop and implement a compliance training program for procurement and construction management staff and consultants to ensure that all actions conform to contract requirements, agency policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.</p><p>

NYLAG is seeking a highly motivated attorney within NYLAG&rsquo;s Immigrant Protection Unit to provide legal representation to immigrant survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, intimate partnerviolence, and other trauma. The job requires substantive knowledge and experience working with trauma survivors in seeking DV-related immigration relief, removal defense, and asylum. The staff attorney must be able to manage urgent matters efficiently and independently while maintaining a trauma-informed and client-centered approach. The staff attorney will represent immigrants in administrative and removal proceedings before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Immigration Courts.<br>

(CFR) is an award-winning, innovative law and policy organization that serves primarily Black and Brown families and youth in Queens, Staten Island, Manhattan, and the Bronx with an interdisciplinary legal defense model that serves more than 2400 clients every year. CFR was originally founded in 2002 to dramatically change the trajectory of indigent parents being prosecuted by the City&rsquo;s Administration for Children&rsquo;s Services (ACS). Our goal is to defend and protect our clients&rsquo; rights, reduce the harm of family separation and prevent or minimize the time any child spends in the foster system.</p><p>
 CFR provides interdisciplinary family defense with a model that was unique at our founding and that is now replicated nationally: we assign every client an attorney and a social work staff member, and teams have the support of parent advocates, who are parents with direct personal experience of being investigated and prosecuted by ACS. CFR was the first agency in the country to integrate parents with lived experience into legal teams and now has seven parent advocates working in all three of our family defense locations. CFR&rsquo;s Community Advocacy Project represents parents during a child protective investigation (to avoid court involvement where possible) and assists parents in clearing their names from state maltreatment records.</p><p>
As an agency committed to securing justice for families, we built the Youth Defense practice (YDP) to defend youth at risk of family separation through incarceration. YDP uses the same interdisciplinary model to represent youth in Queens and Manhattan in Supreme Court Youth Parts, during Probation Adjustment and in Delinquency proceedings in Family Court.
