<div>The Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit Associate Research Scientist to work on advanced sustainable functionalized membranes for desalination and water treatment, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering.
The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functionalized membrane materials to tailor sustainable antifouling hybrid ultrafiltration membranes and antibacterial nanofiltration or reverse osmosis membranes for desalination and water purification. The candidate will explore advanced membrane fabrication techniques and characterization tools (SEM, AFM, Raman, TEM, DSC, XRD, FTIR, TGA, BET, etc.) to correlate fabrication-structure-property-performance of novel nanomaterials with sustainable membranes for desalination and water purification via separation processes. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and engineers, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
The successful applicant will manage the project and work closely with post-doctoral researchers, establish deep technical knowledge, and develop transferable skills. He/she will actively be involved in developing novel concepts and writing research proposals. He/she will work on solving complex problems with efficiency and creativity. He/she will be involved in writing progress reports, authoring peer-reviewed publications, drafting patents, and presenting results at national and international conferences. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate his expertise in assessing antibacterial and antibiofouling properties of nanomaterials, membrane fabrications, sewage water treatment, life cycle assessment, and separation processes. He/she will be detail-oriented and well-organized and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Applicants must have a PhD in materials science and engineering, environmental chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of relevant post-PhD research experience. Analytical characterization skills and excellent experimental expertise relevant to assessing the antibacterial and antibiofouling properties of diversified sustainable membranes are required. Candidates with a history of peer-reviewed publications in a related research area and prior expertise in materials science, environmental chemistry, and water treatment will be preferred .
This position will begin in September 2026 as a two-year contract, renewable depending on performance.  The Center for Brain and Health (CBH) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to support innovative clinical and translational research on brain health and disease in diverse populations within the UAE and wider MENA region.
 
 
 The successful applicant will play a central role in the day-to-day execution of human-subjects research studies, working within a multidisciplinary team of faculty investigators, research assistants, clinicians, and students. The position involves coordinating clinical and observational research protocols that integrate advanced neuroimaging, neuromonitoring, and behavioural methods, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, participant safety, and high-quality data collection.
 
 
 Key responsibilities include coordinating participant recruitment and workflow (pre-screening, informed consent, scheduling, and follow-up), maintaining regulatory and ethics documentation, liaising with clinical partners and imaging facilities, and overseeing clinical aspects of MRI, EEG, and MEG sessions. The Junior Research Scientist / Clinical Coordinator will also contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, support training of research assistants and students, track study progress and recruitment metrics, and assist with grant applications, ethics submissions, and progress reporting. The role works closely with dedicated neuroimaging and research assistants who focus on technical data acquisition, imaging pipelines, and analysis, while the Clinical Coordinator leads clinical governance and participant-facing workflows.
 
 
 Applicants must hold a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, nursing, or a related field; a Master&rsquo;s degree or clinical qualification (e.g., nursing, allied health, clinical psychology) is strongly preferred.  Responsibilities
 
 
 
 In the Sr. Applied Scientist role you will play a crucial part in pioneering research and development across various facets of AI, including but not limited to computer vision, natural language processing, and audio signal processing. Your work will involve the creation and optimization of cutting-edge AI algorithms and deep learning models, contributing to advancements in areas such as semantic understanding, multidimensional data interpretation, and human-machine interactions. Senior Applied Scientist

<div>The Center for Interacting Urban Networks, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to support the project LANDMark on research on land economics, in any of the following areas:
<ul><li>Measurement of land prices, with a focus on imputation techniques
</li><li>Land value determinants: public infrastructures (transport, health, and education services)
</li><li>Macroeconomic stability and instability in the presence of land as a fixed, non-produced asset
</li><li>Taxation of land wealth as an alternative to the consumption tax and the capital tax
</li><li>The political economy of land and its taxation
</li><li>Land, fixed resources, and political conflict
</li></ul>The successful applicant will contribute to the research centered on any of these themes.
The qualified candidate will have an MSc or an MA in economics or another quantitative field with no more than five years from receipt of the degree, and an appetite for working on interdisciplinary teams.

This project, developed by Etienne Wasmer, professor of Economics and program head in Economics at NYUAD, and funded for the next 6 years (2027-2032), brings together a group of researchers working on land all over the world. A team of 4 postdocs will constitute the project's core. Associations and collaborative research funding projects with researchers in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Political Science are encouraged. The post-doctoral associate will be hosted in the Social Science Division, near the economics faculty, and can be affiliated with CITIES (infra).
