<div>Overview:

Barista
The Barista is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. The Barista promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; selling coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories and supplies. Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries gelato and cookies.
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system.</li><li>
Perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork.</li><li>
Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation assignment and established checklist.</li><li>
Be familiar with fire extinguishers, locations and know how to use them.</li><li>
Sell coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines, demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.</li><li>
Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, pastries, cookies and gelato for coffee bar.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Education &amp; Experience:</div><ul><li>
High School Diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.</li></ul><div></div><div> 
Physical requirements:</div><ul><li>
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.</li><li>
Medium work &ndash; Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.</li><li>
Ability to stand during entire shift.</li></ul><div>

About Us: Starboard Side Cafe is a growing, made-to-order brunch business that I personally opened in January 2024. We focus on fresh, healthy, locally sourced ingredients and serve our Galveston community on the west of the island. We operate from a fully equipped commercial food trailer with outside seating, location on the West Beach of Galveston Island in Jamaica Beach. Additionally sometimes we serve at markets, conventions, and special events. Our long-term vision is to open a brick-and-mortar caf&eacute;, and we&rsquo;re looking for team members who share our passion and want to help us grow in that direction.Position Overview: We&rsquo;re seeking a Mobile Caf&eacute; Crew Member who will take an active role in food preparation, kitchen and food safety, customer service, and brand promotion.
