<div>As the Fitness Center Specialist / Backup Cashier , you execute successful operations of physical fitness and wellness programs, recreational programs and social activities, including the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. The Specialist shall actively engage with customers regarding programs and events and shall encourage participation. The Specialist shall be present at events to effectively execute and monitor the programs. Duties will include cashier functions, setup and hosting of activities and events, inventory control and counting, customer service, retail support, library and learning resource support, alcohol service &amp; sales, and other duties as assigned.
The Specialist must have the ability to assist in execution and officiating of all fitness events inclusive of but not exclusive to intramural league sports, weightlifting competitions, 5Ks, 10Ks, Biggest Loser, marathons, and fitness tournaments. Must have a basic knowledge of fitness programs, sports, officiating rules, and fitness equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
<ul><li>Assist in event management inclusive but not exclusive to officiating recreation sporting events, fitness events, reporting participation, announcing rules of engagement, and setup &amp; teardown of event.
</li><li>Assist in creation of fitness calendars and marketing flyers ensuring 120-day calendar planned with fitness events.
</li><li>Perform headcounts and complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
</li><li>Provide excellent customer service in a friendly manner to all patrons of facility.
</li><li>Manage customer concerns and or complaints providing conflict resolution and timely action on all concerns.
</li><li>Assist in maintaining outside facilities inclusive of ball fields, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and other exterior facilities.
</li><li>Assist in maintaining inside facilities inclusive but not exclusive to trash removal, equipment checks, and overall cleanliness.
</li><li>Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills.
</li><li>Strong working knowledge of fitness training and exercises.
</li><li>Performs other related duties needed/required to support the mission.
</li><li>Fitness operations occur 24 hours a day and candidate must be able to work shift as assigned inclusive of either dayshift or nightshift.
</li><li>Shall perform NAF re-sale cashier operations inclusive of cashiering, funds control, and conformance to all local operating instructions and policies inclusive of handling and selling alcohol products.
</li><li>Other duties as assigned by Site Manager.
</li></ul>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:
<ul><li>High school diploma or GED.
</li></ul>LICENSE &amp; CERTIFICATIONS:
<ul><li>Must possess an American Red Cross CPR Certificate, an American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate, or local equivalent certifications (as approved by the ACO), and an Automated External Defibrillator Certification.
</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS:
<ul><li>Preference for candidates to maintain Personal Trainer and Class Instructor certificates by a certifying organization.
