Job Summary
The Opening Legal Assistant processes, reviews, and updates all information provided and/or obtained at case inception, focusing on the client&rsquo;s initial medical treatment, locating insurance information, requesting supporting documents, and placing all parties on notice.
Responsibilities and Duties<ul><li>

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking a highly motivated attorney with extensive prosecutorial experience to join her management team as Division Chief of the Enterprise &amp; Major Crimes Division in the Attorney General&rsquo;s Criminal Bureau. The division is staffed by a group of experienced prosecutors who partner with intelligence analysts, Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Attorney General&rsquo;s Office, and local, state, and federal investigative and enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute large-scale narcotics trafficking organizations throughout the Commonwealth. 
Primary Duties : The Division Chief will manage the division&rsquo;s Assistant Attorneys General and other staff. Supervisory responsibility will include overseeing the investigation and prosecution of cases, reviewing search warrants sought in connection with investigations, and mentoring division staff and assisting them with advanced skills development. The Division Chief will also handle his or her own caseload of primarily narcotics and firearms-related matters from investigation through sentencing. The work involves extensive collaboration with law enforcement, grand jury investigations throughout the Commonwealth, complex motion practice, and frequent appearances before the Commonwealth&rsquo;s District and Superior Courts for motions, pleas, and trials. The Division Chief will be expected to communicate effectively with outside agencies, and to maintain and cultivate those relationships. 
Position Requirements :

The Division enforces the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act (M.G.L. c. 93A) and seeks to protect consumers from abusive practices in debt collection, automobile sales, mortgage lending, and student lending, among many other areas. Racial justice is a strategic priority of the Office, and we aim to serve the most vulnerable consumers in the Commonwealth. 
 
 
Primary Duties : The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) in the Consumer Protection Division will be responsible for identifying problematic business practices that negatively impact consumers, evaluating their suitability for enforcement, and ultimately, investigating and litigating civil actions on behalf of the Commonwealth, where appropriate. The AAG will be expected to develop and implement concrete strategies for remedying industrywide consumer abuses and may also have the opportunity to participate in legislative and regulatory policy development at both the state and federal levels.
