 Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Banquet Department in Dubai, the Waiter/ess is responsible to oversee and be personally involved in all operational aspects of a particular shift in order to assure all service steps are followed and to guarantee every single guest is delighted. Banquet Waiter reports to Banquet Supervisor.
 
 
 
 As a Waiter/ess, you will be responsible for the following duties:

 Deliver exceptional banquet service by understanding guest needs, providing courteous and efficient service, ensuring guest satisfaction from arrival to departure, and creating memorable &ldquo;WOW&rdquo; moments.

 Maintain thorough knowledge of banquet operations, food and beverage offerings, products, services, and POS systems to accurately assist guests and process orders.

 Prepare and maintain service areas by completing mise en place, cleaning duties, polishing equipment, and ensuring all outlet equipment and utensils are handled and stored correctly.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support revenue generation by proactively upselling products and services and accurately performing billing and cashiering tasks in line with hotel policies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure operational excellence by presenting dishes according to hotel standards, managing stock and supplies, and communicating guest preferences, special requests, or allergies to relevant teams.

 As a Waiter/ess, We Expect From You

 High School qualification is preferred, with a Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or Business Management considered an advantage.

 <li>
 Minimum 2 years of experience as a server is required, ideally within banqueting, high-volume restaurants, or luxury hotel environments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong knowledge of Food and Beverage service is essential, including an understanding of service standards and guest expectations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to identify guest needs and consistently deliver exceptional customer service and memorable guest experiences.

</li></ul>As a Waiter/ess, we expect from you:
<ul><li>High School qualification is preferred, with a Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or Business Management considered an advantage.
</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience as a server is required, ideally within banqueting, high-volume restaurants, or luxury hotel environments.
</li><li>Strong knowledge of Food and Beverage service is essential, including an understanding of service standards and guest expectations.
</li><li>Ability to identify guest needs and consistently deliver exceptional customer service and memorable guest experiences.
</li><li>Capable of working long hours in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and service quality.
</li><li>Familiarity with restaurant POS systems, cashiering procedures, service flow management, multitasking, and basic MS Office computer skills is preferred.

 Key Responsibilities

 Reporting to Head Waiter / Waitress, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Outlet Manager.

 A courteous, professional and efficient service is provided at all times.

 <li>
 All duties and tasks are performed as per the tasks required at the outlet.

 <li>
 Be knowledgeable of all services and products offered by the hotel.
 </li>
 <li>
 Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items offered by the department assigned.
 </li>
 <li>
 Have the knowledge and understanding to explain and perform upselling all items offered by the department assigned as well as offering alternatives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
 </li>
 <li>
 Successfully perform opening and closing procedures established for the assigned outlet
 </li>
 <li>
 Handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors.
 </li>
 <li>
 Report guest complaints immediately to the supervisors and ensuring follow up is performed with the guest.
 </li>
 <li>
 Be knowledgeable to operate the existing POS system based on the trained responsibility level as assigned in the department.
 </li>
 <li>
 Understand and strictly adhere to the rules &amp; regulations established in the hotel&rsquo;s policy manual and the hotel&rsquo;s policy on fire, hygiene, health &amp; safety.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.

 Job Requirements

 Experience in an F&amp;B service role.

 Excellent english oral and written skills. Additional language is an advantage.
