The Irrigation Inspector will perform a broad cross‑section of complex technical and administrative activities requiring extensive experience and specialization in Quality Control and Quality Assurance inspection of construction work.
Job Duties
Analyzes applicable codes, standards and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance.<ul><li>
Inspect irrigation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.</li><li>
Monitor installation of irrigation pipelines, fittings, valves, sprinklers, drip systems, and controllers.</li><li>
Verify alignment, levels, and routing of irrigation pipelines as per approved layout.</li><li>
Ensure materials used (pipes, valves, pumps, fittings, controllers, sprinklers) meet approved standards and specifications.</li><li>
Review and verify material submittals and ensure approved materials are used on site.</li><li>
Attend and witness inspection requests (WIRs) submitted by the contractor.</li><li>
Monitor contractor activities and ensure irrigation works are carried out as per approved method statements.</li><li>
Identify non-conforming work and report issues to the Resident Engineer / Assistant Resident Engineer.</li><li>
Issue site observations and follow up on corrective actions by the contractor.</li><li>
Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain site records.</li><li>
Monitor daily progress of irrigation works and verify quantities if required.</li><li>
Coordinate with contractors, landscape engineers, and other inspectors on site.</li><li>
Ensure works comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and local regulations.</li><li>
Witness pressure testing of irrigation pipelines.</li><li>
Verify flushing, cleaning, and testing of irrigation networks.</li><li>
Inspect installation of valve chambers, control valves, and irrigation chambers.</li><li>
Check installation of irrigation pumps, filters, and control systems.</li><li>
Witness testing and commissioning of irrigation systems and automatic controllers.</li><li>
Ensure safety procedures and environmental regulations are followed during irrigation works.</li><li>
Participate in site meetings related to irrigation and landscape works.</li><li>
Assist in snagging inspections and preparation of punch lists.</li><li>
Verify as-built drawings and documentation before project handover.</li><li>
Ensure proper coordination with landscape works and utilities works.</li><li>

Qualifications 
Minimum Qualification
High school/ Technical Institute Diploma / Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (i.e. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural etc.)
Experience
The ideal candidate to be Civil Engineering graduate with minimum 7 years&rsquo; experience in similar works on Irrigation Inspection or Technical Institute Diploma in related field with minimum 9+ years&rsquo; experience in similar works or High School or equivalent institute graduate with minimum 14+ years&rsquo; experience in similar works.

Site inspection as necessary to ensure the works executed are in compliance and acceptable</li><li>

Provides general inspection on all construction and subcontractor work to assure a safe and workmanlike operation.</li><li>
Verifies equipment settings, alignment, testing and energization requirements.</li><li>
Be familiar with the project&rsquo;s detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures together with any associated updates.</li><li>
Ensure the contractor/s compliance with the standards and specifications of the contract documents.</li><li>
Maintain records of the contractor human and equipment daily resources.</li><li>
Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).</li><li>
Liaise and daily follow up with the contractor. This is to ensure the contractor is managing its resources, health and safety, and equipment needs on the site.</li><li>
Prepare daily report to the RE or ARE. This includes works orders, materials delivery, and daily inspections program.</li><li>
Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and ARE.</li><li>
Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.</li><li>
Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE or ARE for pipes alignments and levels.</li><li>
Co-ordinate and co-operate with client project manager during their site inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE.</li><li>
Assist the ARE and RE in the preparation of any correspondences in compliance with the contract documents and site requirements.</li><li>
Where site problems are found, work with the RE or ARE to resolve them promptly.</li><li>
Monitor the start-up, commissioning and handover of the site works. Including maintaining records of the project milestones.</li><li>
Maintain records of materials tests performed and executed works.</li><li>
Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans.</li></ul>
