Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing the procurement activities of the organization. This role involves developing procurement strategies, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of all materials and services, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.</p><br>

<p><b>
Role Priorities / Responsibilities:</b></p><br>
<p></p>
<ul>
<li>Sourcing goods and services in accordance with company policies and procedures</li>
<li>Negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure favorable prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms</li>
<li>Gathers business requirements and identifies and pre-qualifies potential suppliers.</li>
<li>Maintains contact with vendors and submits purchase orders or requisitions in order to ensure a continuous supply of goods</li>
<li>Oversees new vendor setup in procurement or purchasing systems, and ensures that systems are appropriately maintained and updated.</li>
<li>Manage tactical purchasing operations, such as the issuance of purchase orders or the payment of invoices. May track shipments or verify quantities received against purchase orders/invoices.</li>
<li>Review processes and deliverables ensuring high standard service level with continuous improvement focus</li>
<li>Monitor internal customer adherence to procurement Principles &amp; Practices and processes within the assigned scope</li></ul><br>

<p><b>
Knowledge, Preferred Qualifications, Education:</b></p><br>
<p></p>
<ul>
<li>Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field</li>
<li>A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on strategic sourcing and supplier management</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff</li>
<li>Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of procurement and supply chain management best practices and methodologies</li>
<li>Experience using procurement software and tools, such as e-sourcing platforms and contract management systems</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li></ul><br>
