 Key Responsabilities
 
 
 
 
 Transfers &amp; Boat Operations
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Every evening check the schedule for transfers and excursions for the following day. Be familiar with the details regarding the trips including number of guests, their names and any special requirements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare boat set up, according the requirements of the trip and the operating procedures. Always make sure there are sufficient cold towels, beverages and sea sick bands required for each trip. Additionally, during rainy season, make sure that there are enough raincoats and towels available on board.
 </li>
 <li>
 Go through the check list and make sure that everything on the check lis are followed
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that if you or the crew member miss a meal while on a trip, coordinate with Launch Section Manager or coordinator, and ensure that the food is prepared for them from the resort or get the meal from the place that you are going. Make sure that the cost of that meal must be the price set by the management unless authorise by Launch Section Manger.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that the boat is clean, set-up and waiting on the guest jetty, 30 minutes prior to each trip, with the crew members. All team members must following the Resort grooming and uniform standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Make sure all trips are as comfortable as possible for all guests, whilst ensuring their safety and catering to their needs.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Boat Maintenance &amp; Safety
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Always follow the maritime law, rules and regulations as set forth by the Ministry of Transport &amp; Communication of the Republic of Maldives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that the Sea Worthy certificate is on board, and ensure all its requirements are followed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry on your person your Captain&rsquo;s License during all trips.
 </li>
 <li>
 Clean the boat and equipment. Ensure that the boat is in good working condition at all times and report any maintenance issues immediately. Follow up maintenance issues with Launch Section Manager or Coordinator until it is resolved.
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out all the maintenance work of the boat or its engine with engineering department delegates and update Launch Section Manager or Coordinator until it is resolve.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain and at times, build anchor points and nautical navigation lights.
 </li>
 <li>
 Always be responsible and take precautionary measures to avoid any risky incidents. For example, ensure there are no petrol leakages that life jackets are available, that fire extinguishers are in working condition etc.
 </li>
 <li>
 In cases of inclement weather, ascertain whether trips can be made and advise Launch Section Manager or Coordinator accordingly.
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry onboard the Boat Mobile phone at all times when you are on duty. Ensure that it is fully charged before each trip. Ensure that on board radio set is in working condition.
 </li>
 <li>
 At all times keep in mind guest and crew safety first, and drive the boats accordingly.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Communication
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Communicate between Airport Hosts and the Resort Operators to co-ordinate arrival and departure times, and any other guest issues and requests faced during the trip.
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate regularly and as required any issues with boats or guests to the Launch Section Manager or Coordinator.
 </li>
 <li>
 Inform to Launch Section Manager or Supervisor if any items onboard including and not limited to beverages, seasick bands, seasick bags, and resort fact sheets/brochures need to be replaced.
 </li>
 <li>
 Handle guest queries in a timely and efficient manner and provide any information sought by the guest.
 </li>
 <li>
 Resolve guest issues to the guest&rsquo;s satisfaction within your level of authority. Write incident reports regarding any incidents during the trip.
 </li>
 <li>
 Get feedback from guests during the trips and inform the department to ensure proper follow up and actions are taken place.
 </li>
 <li>
 Report any crew disciplinary issues to Launch Section Manager or Coordinator.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Team &amp; Development

 Attend training programs as designated by the resort.
 </li>

 General

 Be familiar with the Transport Department, Front Office and Resort Standard Operating Procedures and ensure that they are followed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance the procedures in the Resort.
 </li>
 <li>
 Actively promote the services and facilities to guests and other stakeholders of the Resort.
 </li>
 <li>
 Keep updated on changes to other areas of resort product and share such information with your team and department on an ongoing basis.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain excellent grooming and hygiene and ensure all grooming standards are met in relation to personal grooming and uniform presentation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Comply with Resort Safety &amp; Environment policies, initiatives and legislation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Abide by all Work Place Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations at all times.
 </li>
 <li>
 Abide by the guidelines set out in the Employee Handbook.
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out any other duties as directed by the department or the Resort General Manager.

 Overall in charge of the boat and responsible for the safety, security and comfort of all passengers and crew

 Takes charge of the crew. Trains and monitors their progress.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for personal uniform and the uniform and conduct and presentation of his crew. Look after and maintain uniform.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for the preparation and cleanliness of his assigned vessel prior to departure.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for boat navigation and safe handling
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for sending distress alerts and asking any assistance from shore if required
 </li>
 <li>
 Responds to all emergencies and acts as per the given duties
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures the cleanliness of the boat from inside and outside at all times
 </li>
 <li>
 Takes charge of all logbooks and check all entries
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures all manifests are posted upon every departure
 </li>
 <li>
 Follows the approved passage plan and explains every deviation, if any
 </li>
 <li>
 Reports any unsafe act and near misses to the management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures boat is fully bunkered with fresh water and fuel at all times and manages discharge of black water
 </li>
 <li>
 Follows safe practices for bunkering
 </li>
 <li>
 Enforces safe practices including no-smoking policy and environmental protection policy
 </li>
 <li>
 Reports any issues with boat, navigational equipment, engines and other equipment to Port Captain to be forwarded to technical manager and copied to Guest Fleet Operations manager
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for addressing passenger concerns properly
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures proper lashing and stowing of passenger luggage and cargo
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures good condition of all mooring ropes and berthing equipment
 </li>
 <li>
 Conducts departure checks and reports to the operations team if any equipment is found to be defective
 </li>
 <li>
 Reports to Coast Guard and other relevant agencies when needed
 </li>
 <li>
 Takes charge and preserves all boat certificates and manuals including the registration card
 </li>
 <li>
 Reports any crew absence or deficiency
 </li>
 <li>
 Conducts daily operations briefing to his crew prior to duty start
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures that fire panel is in operational condition
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures all FFA and LSA appliances are in order
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures to share all operational information to next skipper and Port Captain upon his duty end
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in handling more than 3 different types of vessels of the fleet, including IPS driven vessels.
 </li>
 <li>
 Actively participates in training sessions of other crew members whenever requested, in coordination with the training officer.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in drydocking transfers and procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Respond to emergency sailing operations in heavy weather conditions only upon confirmation of the Marine Operations Manager.
 </li>
 <li>
