Lead Remediation Specialist (Principal Environmental Scientist)

Primary objective:
Coordinates all estimating activities on assigned project(s). Exercises a strong working knowledge of home office services, field indirect, and craft labor using a background of diversified experience and familiarity with typical project controls software such as DMCS (Document and Material Control System). Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, engineering drawings and specifications.
Develop estimating procedures for the Alliance, execute and supervise estimates for modifications and additions to the clients' facilities. The estimates are to include all phases of execution of the work from front end engineering through to closeout. During the pre-engineering phase the estimator will compare estimates of alternative solutions and provide input to selection of the adopted option.
Specific Accountabilities:
<ul><li>Prepares material takeoffs on the most complex projects, drawings, and plans. Reviews takeoffs provided by the Engineering Department and checks for mathematical and technical accuracy.
</li><li>Develop procedures for the preparation of estimates for modifications and additions to the onshore and offshore facility.
</li><li>Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of estimates in accordance with the approved procedure for all phases of the works from the agreed engineering deliverables to the appropriate level of accuracy.
</li><li>Receive the engineering estimate from the lead/project engineer for each modification/addition and incorporate into the overall estimate for all phases of the work.
</li><li>Prepare rationale statements to support the estimate identifying areas of weakness and or areas of risk.
</li><li>Carry out validation and verification of the estimates using high level norms and by comparing with previous estimates, outcome costs and vendor prices.
</li><li>Continuously monitor the performance of the estimating process as part of the KPIs for the contract.
</li><li>From evaluation of the KPI data identify and make recommendations for improvement of the process.

 Preferred Qualification(s) And/or Experience

 You will possess either a degree in Ecology and/or an equivalent diploma from an accredited college or university. This is an essential contractual requirement.

 <li>
 You must have work experience working within PMC projects in the above-mentioned industries.
 </li>
 <li>
 You will have experience working with advanced engineering tools, data systems &amp; other general office / engineering software will be given first preference.
 </li>
 <li>
 You will have the ability to interact effectively with people of all nationalities &amp; cultures while using clear, fluent, and expressive verbal and written language to convey information and ideas. An individual with excellent communication and people skills, a consummate developer of relationship(s) on a sustainable and long-term basis.

 You will have extensive knowledge of Contractual Terms &amp; Conditions, Commercial Contract Law.
 </li>
 <li>
 You will have broad based knowledge of the requirements for process engineering through all phases of project life cycle, from FEED through to Commissioning, within Oil &amp; Gas or related industries.

 You will demonstrate an ability to lead/coach/mentor colleagues and/or staff.

 You will have the ability to work under tight time constraints with excellent time management and planning skills as well as manage multiple priorities.

 You shall have experience in lower and higher flora and fauna classification ecology, sustainable management, and conservation of wildlife in arid areas.

 Experience in population and community relationships with plants. Understanding of the processes that shape the temporal and spatial distribution of fauna, and interactions between native plants and animals, especially in relation to climate."&hyphen; Experience in planting, desert ecology, irrigation system, and plant/soil relationship.
 </li>
 <li>
 Apply sampling strategies and employ a range of habitat survey techniques, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), aerial photography, records, and maps.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in developing strategies and contract technical and rehabilitation work on natural habitats.
 </li>
 <li>
 Shall be able to liaise with, and advise, project engineers, planners, and others associated with revegetation activities, surveys, nursery activities, or planting. Build relationships with stakeholders, including members of the public authorities
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in the development of technical expertise, Data analysis, revegetation assessment management, developing and writing reports and issue recommendations.
