Job Type: Full-time, Onsite
Location: Karachi (PECHS)
Experience: 3+ years in HR within a Software House / IT company
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Qualix Solutions is a custom software development company serving SaaS founders and SMEs across the US and globally. Our Pakistan-based delivery team of 20+ professionals builds web applications, mobile apps, and AI-powered solutions. We are growing fast and looking for an HR Business Partner who can build and own our people function from the ground up.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
This is not a support role. You will be the single point of ownership for everything people-related at Qualix. From hiring the right engineers to designing how we evaluate and grow our team, you will directly shape the company's culture and capacity to deliver. You will work closely with the CEO to turn people challenges into structured, repeatable solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Own end-to-end recruitment for technical and non-technical roles: sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding
- Build and maintain a talent pipeline for developers, QA engineers, designers, and project managers
- Partner with technical leads to define role requirements, assess candidates, and reduce time-to-hire
- Manage job postings, employer branding on platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed), and referral programs
- Track and improve recruitment metrics: time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, quality of hire, and source effectiveness
Performance Management and Appraisals
- Design and implement a structured appraisal framework with clear review cycles (quarterly/bi-annual)
- Develop role-specific evaluation criteria for developers, QA, designers, and project managers
- Facilitate goal-setting, performance reviews, and feedback sessions across the team
- Create performance improvement plans (PIPs) when needed, with proper documentation and follow-through
- Build dashboards to track individual and team performance over time
Learning and Development
- Identify skill gaps through appraisals and project feedback, and design targeted learning initiatives
- Support subject matter expert (SME) development programs and internal knowledge-sharing
- Coordinate certifications, training budgets, and career growth paths for team members
HR Operations and Strategy
- Set up and manage core HR processes: attendance, leave management, compensation structures, and offboarding
- Draft and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and compliance documentation
- Advise the CEO on team structure, resource planning, and organizational design as the company scales
- Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives tailored to a software house environment
- Handle employee relations, grievance resolution, and disciplinary matters with discretion
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Must-Have
- 3+ years of HR experience in a Software House or IT services company
- Proven track record in technical recruitment: hiring Business Development, Developers, QA, Designers, and PMs
- Hands-on experience designing or managing appraisal cycles and performance review frameworks
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and how tech teams operate
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in HR metrics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making (strong Excel/Google Sheets skills)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working with distributed or remote teams serving international clients
- Exposure to HRIS/HRMS platforms
- Experience with employer branding and talent marketing strategies
- Knowledge of Pakistani labor laws and compliance requirements
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS
- A fully functional recruitment process with clear SLAs and tracked metrics
- A documented appraisal framework rolled out across all roles with at least one completed review cycle
- Core HR policies and an employee handbook in place
- Visible improvement in hiring speed and candidate quality
- A clear L&D roadmap aligned with team skill gaps and company growth goals
WHO YOU ARE
- You have actually worked inside a software house and understand its pace, culture, and talent challenges
- You are comfortable being the sole HR person and building things from scratch
- You are structured and process-driven, not someone who operates on intuition alone
- You communicate directly, document thoroughly, and follow through on commitments
- You see HR as a strategic function, not just an administrative one
