Position Summary

The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as the sole HR resource for the organization, providing comprehensive support across all areas of human resources. This role is directly responsible for the overall administration, and coordination of the human resource function, including hiring and interviewing staff, employee relations, compensation and benefits, leaves, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position requires a high degree of independence, problem-solving skills, and ability to deal with day-to-day operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Human Resources department; plan, organize, and control all activities of the department.
  • Maintain/create job descriptions; analyze compensation; monitor the performance evaluation program; and assist in the development of the merit pool.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Provide support and guidance to managers and other staff when complex and sensitive questions and issues arise such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain employee guide/handbook.
  • Responsible for benefits administration to include 401(k), COBRA, Worker’s Compensation, medical and family leaves, and evaluation of benefit plans and policies for cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt positions; post advertisements; work with managers/supervisors to screen and interview candidates; extend job offers; conduct new-hire orientations; employee relations counseling; and conduct exit interviews.
  • Maintain department records, reports, and organizational charts.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain and coordinate employee recognition program.
  • Participate as a member of the safety committee.
  • Manage and coordinate employee activities.
  • Assume additional related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in human resources management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Broad generalist background including coaching and counseling, performance management, recruiting, compensation, and benefits.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, federal and local.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition and employee relations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $90,000.00 - $112,500.00 per year
