Job Purpose


The role possesses skills to facilitate critical production issues support, domain expertise associated with system administration side capabilities


Key result Areas


  • Installation, configuration, deployment, administration and monitoring of IBM API Connect in Cloud and On Prem VMs.
  • Monitor the health of the IBM API Connect environment to ensure performance and availability of APIs.
  • Participate, and lead as necessary, in incident resolution calls when needed to assist root cause analysis of issues.
  • Analyze logs to identify problems within the IBM API Connect environment.
  • Configure and implement backup and restoration of IBM API Connect subsystems.
  • Backup and restore IBM API Connect configuration data.
  • Maintain CI/CD pipeline for building and deploying APIs in IBM API Connect
  • Use the API Management Portal to manage the lifecycle of APIs across multiple API Catalogs.
  • Consumer maintenance including creating users, groups and roles, and security configurations.
  • Make IBM API Connect Developer Portal changes using the administrative menus to affect the portal configuration and Drupal themes as well as perform some look and feel content changes.
  • Enabling the third party tools like elastic to capture the analytics events for customer dash boards
  • Splunk data platform expertism with advance search queries construction and monitoring and alerting setup for failures
  • Configure the security of the IBM API Connect product using TLS Profiles and native oAtuh2 mechanisms to ensure a secure operating environment.
  • Apply product maintenance patches, interim releases, upgrades as required.
  • Deliver technical architecture related information, support technical discovery sessions, assist architect/ team lead as required, and respond to architecture, infrastructure, and security questions as required.
  • Good in hardware specifications, networking requirements, and storage sizing for IBM API Connect.
  • Interact with IBM Technical Support and IBM Technical Sales as required to verify, discuss, and close issues or questions that arise.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Minimum 5-8 years of Experience in Respective Application Domain and Support line
  • Installation, configuration, deployment, administration and monitoring of IBM API Connect in Cloud and On Prem VMs.
  • Monitor the health of the IBM API Connect environment to ensure performance and availability of APIs.
  • Participate, and lead as necessary, in incident resolution calls when needed to assist root cause analysis of issues.
