Senior Procurement Specialist-Construction

Job Purpose

The Senior Procurement Officer will handle procurement activities for construction projects, ensuring timely purchase of materials, subcontract services, and equipment at the best cost, quality, and delivery terms. The role requires strong experience in construction procurement and vendor negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for construction materials, equipment, and subcontract services.
• Source, evaluate, and maintain approved suppliers and subcontractors.
• Obtain quotations, conduct comparisons, negotiate prices, terms, and finalize purchase orders.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, QS, and stores teams for material planning.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to sites as per project schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delays, quality, or commercial issues.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contracts, and budgets.
• Review and approve purchase requisitions within assigned authority limits.
• Support contract and subcontract finalization with commercial and legal teams.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Maintain procurement records, vendor documentation, and MIS reports.

Experience:

• Minimum 7to10 years of experience in procurement within a construction company (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of construction materials (civil, MEP, finishing, landscaping, etc.).
