Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities on the construction site to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Oversee the performance of contractors, subcontractors, and laborers, ensuring work is completed according to project specifications and safety standards.
- Review construction plans, specifications, and schedules, and ensure they are followed accurately.
- Monitor site progress and report to the project manager regarding timelines, materials, manpower, and any issues or delays.
- Inspect and ensure all materials and equipment used on-site are of the required quality and meet safety standards.
- Enforce health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure that construction work is done in accordance with building codes, legal regulations, and environmental standards.
- Manage and monitor project site logistics, including coordinating deliveries of materials and handling site organization.
- Conduct site inspections, identify any potential hazards or problems, and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including work completed, incidents, and workforce attendance.
- Assist in resolving technical issues on-site, troubleshooting construction challenges, and ensuring the proper execution of plans.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and deadlines are met.
- Ensure proper documentation for permits, licenses, and inspection reports is in place.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree or certification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience (X+ years) as a Site Supervisor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage teams and interact with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficient in the use of construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively on-site.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Construction Site Management certification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
