POSITION OVERVIEW

Shadyside Presbyterian Church Nursery School (SPCNS) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage financial records, support payroll and billing, and provide monthly reporting. This role works closely with the Director and Board to help maintain the school’s financial health. The Bookkeeper position is a part time position averaging 10 hours per week (hours may be variable throughout the school year). This position is a combination of remote and office work. Many tasks can be accomplished remotely, but others will require in-person coordination at the school office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Record tuition, deposits, and other payments in QuickBooks Online and Brightwheel
  • Track fundraising income and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare bank deposits and manage accounts receivable/payable
  • Process vendor payments and teacher reimbursements
  • Prepare and submit monthly payroll information
  • Reconcile accounts (multiple checking accounts and credit card)
  • Prepare monthly financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet)
  • Assist with tuition billing, invoices, and adjustments
  • Support annual audit, insurance reporting, and financial summaries

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online required
  • Familiarity with Brightwheel (preferred)
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, and basic tax practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Meet weekly with the Director from September through May and as needed June through August
  • Part-time position (approx. 10 hours/week)
  • Must maintain confidentiality and follow school policies

START DATE: The new Bookkeeper will begin in May 2026. The exact start date is flexible.
